You might already know that pressing the top-right button on your iPad will either put your iPad to sleep or wake it up. It is for this reason that Apple calls it the “Sleep/Wake button.”
You might also know that pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds will give you the option to “slide to power off.”
After powering off your iPad, holding the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds will once again “Power On” your iPad. You will see the familiar Apple logo along with a rotating circular progress indicator. After a few seconds, you will be presented with the locked screen.
However, if you are reading this article, you probably noticed that the Sleep/Wake button does nothing in the event that your iPad crashed, froze, locked up or stopped responding.
