Appearance

From Saga 0 up to Saga 9, you get to meet DEM initially as they appear to be easy opponents in the introductory scenario (only if you did not choose to go directly to Acropolis City during your conversation with Tita.) Later, you get to fight them again in the higher level areas of the Light Tower.  They appear to be formidable killing machines in humanoid form, invading the land of Acronia & Dominion World, and of course, killing puny players along the way.

Saga 8 also gives the hint that the DEM race were actually invading the Dominion World. That was one of the reason why the Dominions, in their last frontier, were sending off their children to the Emil World to train and become full-fledge warrior. Destined to go back to Dominion World to fight off the DEM invasion.

Saga 10 – Pseudo Gods and Memory of Machines

As one of the new exciting features of Saga 10, the DEM race finally becomes the 4th playable race. Machines with a heart. Saga 10 unveils the story of Mysterious Boy & Mysterious Girl, both DEM, meets Emil (the hero) in his adventures. To fight and shake hands with former enemies.

So, what makes DEM special? In normal form, they appear to be harmless and  innocent-looking boys and girls (with RED eyes)  that can wear normal fashionable clothes.

But in battle, they can freely change into Machina form. Transforming their own body and appearance into a form enhanced and strengthened for battle.

They can freely switch between Normal and Machina form.

DEM do not have jobs. Instead they have a new growth system called DEMIC. Using a new parameter called Cost Capacity.
