Amazon gives you one more reason to switch to Verizon Wireless. It is offering Google’s latest Android flagship smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus 4G, for only $99.99 with a 2-year Verizon Wireless contract for a limited time. That is a whopping $200 discount from the regular on-contract price of $299 from Verizon Wireless.

How to Bypass Wikipedia SOPA/PIPA Blackout Locked Page

Wikipedia joins many other websites in raising our awareness of the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and PROTECT IP Act (PIPA) by locking itself out with a SOPA/IPA blackout page as a protest.

Wikipedia believes that “SOPA and PIPA are badly drafted legislation that won’t be effective at their stated goal (to stop copyright infringement), and will cause serious damage to the free and open Internet.” It is “concerned that SOPA and PIPA will severely inhibit people’s access to online information.”

As a result, “Wikipedia is protesting against SOPA and PIPA by blacking out the English Wikipedia for 24 hours, beginning at midnight January 18, Eastern Time. Samsung Galaxy Nexus 4G (Verizon Wireless) Android Phone Is Now Available from AmazonWireless

The world’s first smartphone to run Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) is now available from AmazonWireless for as low as $189.99 with a 2-year Verizon Wireless contract.

This phone doesn’t have a Super AMOLED+ display. However, it comes with a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED display with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. You get 720p HD resolution, which of the most smartphones that are available now, don’t have yet.

How to buy Android apps from the Android Market using unsupported device

You saw that some of the best selling games and apps that you really, really wanted from the Android Market are now on sale for just 10 cents and for a limited time. But, you also found out that the stubborn Android Market won’t let you buy those apps because your current phone or tablet is not supported? I know exactly how you feel!

A lot of people (including me) may still want to buy the apps, specially now that the Android Market is loaded daily with 10 cents deal on top premium apps, for use with a newer or future compatible device that they will soon own.

If you’d ask Google support, they will immediately tell you that it is not possible to buy apps for an unsupported device and that there’s nothing they can do about it right now. Maybe, the Android Market is designed this way to hide away the horrors and frustrations of fragmentation (read: hardware incompatibilities) from the users.
